The Mata Amritanandamayi Satsang Group Inc was incorporated in August 2007 although the group itself has been holding Satsangs for over 5 years.  It is a small group of people who are devoted to Amma and meet every 4th Saturday.

All are welcome to come and join the group for chanting, bhajans (sometimes known as Kirtan which are devotional songs sung with simple musical accompaniment), peace prayers and spiritual discussions.  We welcome new members who feel they would like to connect to the love and compassion that is Amma.

AMMA, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, popularly called "Mother" or "The Hugging Saint". AMMA is one of the true living saints today. She has hugged over 25 million people world-wide. Jane Goodall, presenting Amma with the Gandhi-King Award for Non-Violence said, "She stands here in front of us. God's love in a human body." She teaches by the example of her own life and conveys the highest spiritual truths in the simplest language. Her teachings are universal.

SATSANG (spiritual discussion) is a very traditional way of deepening our knowledge and understanding about our spiritual practice and life. It's a chance to share, listen, ask questions, and gain insights and understanding.

KIRTAN is singing and chanting Sanskrit mantras. Chanting is the greatest of all therapies for removing negativity from the heart... not only does the chanting purify us inwardly but it also purifies the atmosphere around us. We keep the chants simple. No need to be a choir singer or Sanskrit scholar to enjoy it!
