Give more than what you have already received!

All of us are the blessed children of The Divine Consciousness, Who is remembered by our seer forefathers as God. He shapes us and blesses us in His Motherly love, nourishes continuously with life-bestowing and life-sustaining Prana, the breath of life. And, from time-to-time, He keeps on guiding us through incarnations of His divinity in Self-realized Spiritual Masters like Rama and Krishna, or through seers and sages like Buddha, Vyasa and Shankara.

In the present era, we are fortunate to have a Guru, who is all in one, the seer, the Master and a dear Mother too. We must carefully listen to, then, realize in our minds and put to practice what She has to say!

“It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived!” – Amma

We forget that we have already got so much that it’s lying unutilized and getting rusted. It would bring happiness not only to others, but to us as well, if we share it with and distribute it to those who can use it properly. Mother Nature doesn’t hold any bounty back to Herself, but instead, showers on us so lovingly and beautifully!

“A rainbow appears and dissolves in the sky within minutes. However, within that short span of time, the rainbow is able to make everyone happy. Just like the rainbow, which appears so briefly in the infinite sky, our lifespan, which appears for just a brief moment within the endless span of time, is also very short and insignificant. As long as we live in this world, our greatest and foremost duty, or dharma, is to be of some benefit to others. Only when goodness awakens within the individual will his or her personality and actions attain beauty and strength.”

Amma is telling us to be a giver of happiness like the rainbow, and be lovingly sweet to all. Is it difficult? What hinders us from giving uncond itional love?

She knows that we can overcome our individual egos by realizing the truth of oneness with whole of the creation. So, Amma says: -

“According to the scriptures of India, there is no difference between the Creator and creation, just as there is no difference between the ocean and its waves. The essence of the ocean and its waves are one and the same: it is water. Gold and gold ornaments are the same because gold is the substance of which the ornaments are made. Clay and the clay pot are ultimately the same because the substance of the pot is clay. So, there is no difference between the Creator, or God, and creation. They are essentially one and the same: Pure Consciousness.”

Very beautifully Amma summarises her guidance by comparing our life with a tree:-

“May the tree of our life be firmly rooted in the soil of love;
Let good deeds be the leaves on that tree;
May words of kindness form its flowers;
May peace be its fruits.”
